SOC 2 Compliance & Security Standards

SOC 2 compliance is a voluntary auditing framework developed by the AICPA (American Institute of CPAs) that evaluates how securely a service organization manages customer data. Eurematic is committed to upholding the highest standards of data integrity and protection.

Why SOC 2 Compliance Matters

When entrepreneurs, startup accelerators, and enterprise partners entrust Eurematic with sensitive business model canvases, pitch decks, cap tables, and financial projections, data security cannot be an afterthought. SOC 2 auditing verifies that our systems meet rigorous, standardized benchmarks evaluated by independent Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).

Scope

5 Core Pillars: Security to Privacy

Core Pillars

The 5 Trust Services Criteria

Compliance is measured across five criteria, where Security is mandatory and four criteria govern specialized operational domains.

Security

Protects systems and data against unauthorized access.

Mandatory Core

Implements access control safeguards, network segmentation, firewalls, two-factor authentication, and constant intrusion monitoring to prevent unauthorized intrusion and data breaches.

Operational Controls:
  • Strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) across all databases and services
  • End-to-end TLS 1.3 encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest
  • Automated vulnerability detection and dynamic dependency scanning
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) required on all administrative accounts

Availability

Ensures systems are accessible for operation and use.

Operational Uptime

Ensures cloud systems, generative modeling engines, and workspace projects maintain high availability, business continuity, and resilient failover configurations.

Operational Controls:
  • 99.9% availability targets with multi-region redundancy
  • Automated continuous database snapshotting and disaster recovery runbooks
  • Real-time uptime and latency telemetry with proactive alerting

Processing Integrity

Guarantees data processing is complete, accurate, and authorized.

Accurate Execution

Assures that AI document extraction, financial projection computations, and business planning models execute completely, accurately, and without algorithmic corruption.

Operational Controls:
  • Data validation pipelines ensuring schema and value integrity
  • Idempotent processing preventing duplication or dropped calculations
  • Full audit trail logs for extraction and project mutation events

Confidentiality

Restricts sensitive data access to authorized parties.

Confidential Founder IP

Keeps proprietary startup pitches, cap tables, user financials, and competitive analyses protected from unauthorized disclosure or multi-tenant leakage.

Operational Controls:
  • Strict cryptographic tenant data isolation at the database layer
  • One-time ephemeral tokens for cross-service transfers (e.g., website builder)
  • Strict confidentiality agreements for all engineers and contractors

Privacy

Controls the collection, use, and disposal of personal information.

Personal Data Governance

Manages the collection, storage, processing, and deletion of personal identifiable information (PII) in compliance with AICPA privacy standards and GDPR requirements.

Operational Controls:
  • Granular user rights: right to access, export, and delete personal data
  • Transparent privacy policies and zero sale of customer data
  • Automated data purging upon account deletion
Audit Classifications

SOC 2 Report Types

Depending on audit maturity and organizational goals, two distinct report types exist under the AICPA standard:

Type IDesign of Controls

Point-in-Time Assessment

Evaluates the design of security controls at a single point in time. It verifies that an organization has correctly established and documented all necessary technical, physical, and administrative controls to protect customer data.

Focus: Architecture, policies, and control design validation
Type IIOperating Effectiveness

Continuous Effectiveness

Assesses the ongoing operating effectiveness of security controls over a period of 3 to 12 months. An independent auditor tests that controls operated consistently throughout the testing period without failure.

Focus: Long-term operational evidence and real-world resilience
